Nikolai Novosjolov, a renowned former fencer who has twice been crowned world champion, has been appointed as the head coach of the Estonian women's epee team. In addition to his new role, he is also the coach of prominent fencer Katrina Lehis. His experience includes previously serving as the head coach for the Estonian men's epee team between 2018 and 2019, providing him with a strong background in leading fencing teams at a high level.

The decision was confirmed by Alar Eiche, the president of the Estonian Fencing Federation, who emphasized the importance of clear leadership and collective understanding of both athletic and organizational principles for the team's preparation for the Olympic cycle. Eiche noted that the aim is to provide the team with the best possible environment to achieve high results on the international stage.
