In a disturbing incident in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh, a mentally unwell woman was nearly kidnapped when she was forcibly pulled into an e-rickshaw by a group of men. The situation escalated when the woman began to scream for help, which caught the attention of a traffic Home Guard officer stationed nearby. Acting promptly, the Home Guard alerted the police, who responded quickly to the scene and rescued the woman before any serious harm could come to her.

Upon police arrival, they discovered that the woman was being taken against her will, and after assessing her condition, they promptly transported her to a hospital for medical evaluation. Fortunately, the woman did not sustain any visible injuries during the incident, highlighting the timely intervention that potentially saved her from a more dire fate. Authorities have confirmed that the incident occurred around 9:30 AM on a Sunday, and all necessary measures were undertaken to ensure her safety.

In the aftermath, the police detained the e-rickshaw driver, Aakash Mishra, and two accomplices involved in the attempted kidnapping. The local police, under the leadership of SP City Abhinav Tyagi, stated that relevant charges have been filed against the accused, and a thorough investigation is underway. This incident has raised concerns regarding the safety of vulnerable individuals in public spaces, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance and community awareness to prevent such occurrences in the future.
