Two men have been remanded in custody until April 1 in connection with the murder of a 68-year-old man in Christiansfeld.
Two men have been ordered to remain in custody until April 1 as part of an investigation into the murder of a 68-year-old man in Christiansfeld, Denmark. The man was discovered deceased on Wednesday, prompting an immediate investigation by the Sydøstjyllands Politi. In total, six individuals have been charged in connection with the case, and during preliminary hearings, all six denied the allegations against them.
The police believe that three of the suspects broke into the victim's home, where he was fatally stabbed in the neck and physically assaulted. Among those held in custody, a 25-year-old man is suspected of murder, while a 35-year-old man is accused of assisting in the crime. The case has attracted significant attention, and the remand of these suspects has been deemed necessary to allow the police additional time to gather evidence and conduct their investigation effectively.
Furthermore, three of the detained individuals—a 19-year-old woman, a 52-year-old woman, and a 61-year-old man—will remain in custody for an additional three days, giving the police more time to investigate. Meanwhile, the last suspect, a 19-year-old woman, has been released, but police have indicated they believe there are at least two more accomplices still at large, highlighting the ongoing nature of the investigation and the potential for further developments in the case.
