Estonia has undertaken significant efforts to evacuate its citizens from the conflict regions of the Middle East, successfully bringing home 1,089 people through seven special flights. These operations have been particularly challenging, necessitating coordination and logistics to ensure the safety of Estonian nationals, including minors.

On Sunday evening, two of the final flights departed from Dubai to facilitate the return of those Estonian citizens who were traveling in the United Arab Emirates, along with their family members holding Estonian residence permits. Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna emphasized that the country successfully executed this complex operation, highlighting Estonia's capability to handle dangerous situations independently rather than relying on the support of other nations.

With the last special flights now completed, Minister Tsahkna noted the restoration of regular airline services and mentioned that there are currently no further evacuation flights planned. This situation underscores the ongoing challenges faced by citizens in conflict zones and the critical role of their home governments in ensuring their safe return during crises.
