This vibrant event drew thousands of supporters who cheered as the participating teams showcased their rowing skills. The race not only reflected the competitive spirit but also aimed to empower women and challenge traditional gender roles in a society where such activities are typically dominated by men.

The captain of the women's team from Bokassi village, Jupsie Mameleyabi, expressed pride in breaking gender norms by stating that traditionally it is the husbands who are engaged in such races.
