In a dramatic accident on the BR-373 highway in Chopinzinho, Paraná, a truck driver survived with only minor injuries after his truck, loaded with bundles of paper, lost control and crashed into a bank on Saturday morning. The impact was so severe that the truck was almost completely destroyed, with pieces of the vehicle scattered across the roadway, including the engine, wheels, and even the driver’s cab. Remarkably, the driver emerged from the wreckage with only light injuries, thanks to the prompt response of emergency services.
The accident, which occurred around 10 AM, required equipment from the Fire Department and Mobile Emergency Service to assist the driver and manage the situation on the busy highway. Despite the apparent severity of the crash, the driver was able to receive timely medical care without sustaining life-threatening injuries. Authorities from the Federal Highway Police (PRF) worked diligently at the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
Following the incident, the roadway was partially closed for several hours to facilitate a thorough investigation and the removal of the truck's debris. The PRF is expected to finalize their investigation into the causes leading to the accident, which highlights ongoing concerns regarding safety in transportation and the conditions on Brazilian highways.
