Today at 5:45 PM, ETV2 and the ERR sports portal will broadcast live the men's 15 km mass start race from the Kontiolahti Biathlon World Cup event. The race will be commented on by sports commentators Ivar Lepik and Karel Kulbin, giving viewers insights into the competition as it unfolds.

Thirty athletes will compete in this mass start race, yet no Estonian athletes are participating. The front row will feature the top three athletes from the World Cup standings: overall leader Eric Perrot from France, Sebastian Samuelsson from Sweden, and Johan-Olav Botn from Norway. Behind them, competitors Johannes Dale-Skjevdal from Norway and French athletes Quentin Fillon Maillet and Emilien Jacquelin will start from the second row, promising an exciting competition among some of the best in the sport.

In the race for the small crystal globe awarded for the mass start standings, Perrot is currently leading, having won at the Nove Mesto World Cup stage. Italian athlete Tommaso Giacomel displayed the best performance in the season’s first mass start at Le Grand Bornand but has since ended his season. The event promises to be competitive, particularly given Dale-Skjevdal's recent Olympic success in this discipline during the Milano Cortina games.
