In 2023, a 35-year-old man in Nokia, Finland, was sentenced to 60 days of conditional imprisonment for a series of harassments directed against his neighbor. These included vandalizing her car with a metal pipe and urinating through her mailbox, as well as making threats against her family. The man’s actions were motivated by an alleged vendetta, claiming that his neighbor had reported him to the police for growing cannabis.
The incident unfolded over several days during late summer, where the man targeted a woman in her 50s and her daughter in their shared apartment building. In addition to the physical damages, specifically to a car owned by the daughter, the man was ordered to pay approximately 3,800 euros in compensation to the victims for the distress and property damage caused.
