On the morning of March 8th, around 9:15 AM, an eruption occurred at Mount Meakandake in eastern Hokkaido, Japan, as confirmed by the Meteorological Agency. The eruption took place at the Ponnmachineshiri crater, with volcanic ash soaring to approximately 100 meters high and drifting southeast. This eruption marks the first occurrence since October 25th of the previous year, indicating ongoing volcanic activity in this region.
