On the night of June 6 to the early hours of June 7, Russian military forces launched missile and drone attacks across various locations in Ukraine, resulting in significant casualties. In Kharkiv, a residential building was struck by a ballistic missile, leading to the deaths of ten individuals, including two children, and injuring at least fifteen others. The scale of the assault was extensive, with reports indicating that Russian forces utilized 29 missiles and 480 drones during the attacks.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, they managed to intercept and destroy 19 of the missiles and 453 of the drones used in the onslaught, highlighting the intensity of the conflict and the efforts of Ukrainian air defense systems. The attacks reportedly targeted 22 different locations, signifying a coordinated strategy by Russian forces to inflict damage on civilian infrastructure and overwhelm defensive capabilities.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), appealing for continued support for Ukraine as he condemned the relentless attempts by Russia to destroy not only residential areas but also critical infrastructure such as energy systems and railways in multiple regions, including the capital, Kyiv.
