Latgale photographers display creative experiments in a joint exhibition

Photographers from the Latgale region showcase their creative works in a joint exhibition, emphasizing diversity in styles and inspirations.

A recent exhibition in the Latgale region features the works of local photographers, including the newly joined Erika Baltiņa, who expresses a strong affinity for the motif of roads in photography. Baltiņa shared her favorite photo titled 'Sunrise in the Fog,' capturing a nostalgic moment that connects her to home. Her journey into professional photography was catalyzed by her husband, Alvils, a professional photographer, who inspired her to elevate her amateur hobby into a serious passion.

The exhibition highlights the diverse styles and perspectives of Latgale photographers, aiming to preserve this variety by bringing together both experienced artists and newcomers to the field. Curator Inga Ivanova presented an unconventional take on still life by painting with acrylics underwater in an aquarium, resulting in unique images that challenge traditional methods of photography. This initiative reflects the collective effort of the Latgale Photographers Association to enrich the local artistic landscape and promote innovative photographic expressions.

This exhibition not only showcases individual talent but also fosters a sense of community among photographers in Latgale, encouraging collaboration and creativity. It stands as a testament to the region's vibrant cultural scene and highlights how personal journeys in art can contribute to a larger narrative of local identity and artistic evolution.
