Elina Goidina and Maria Eliise Kaljuvere participated in the junior world figure skating championships this past Saturday at the Tondiraba Ice Hall. Although their final results may have been below expectations, the athletes demonstrated significant potential throughout their performances. Kaljuvere, who was competing for the third time in the junior championships, scored 110.94 points in her free skate on Sunday while celebrating her 17th birthday. Upon reflecting on the experience, Kaljuvere shared, "I have never had such an experience competing on my birthday. It was very exciting. Otherwise, it was a normal day, but everyone wished me well in the morning." Despite the festive occasion, she managed to maintain her focus on the competition, acknowledging the importance of resilience and demonstrating her skills until the very end. Looking forward, Kaljuvere recognizes that success in elite sports requires dedication and effort. Despite previous championships yielding better short program results which affected their scores, she expressed satisfaction with her performance. "I donβt know, I am satisfied. Iβm not interested in the ranking; I just want to show my abilities," stated Kaljuvere, indicating her determination to improve in future competitions and her vision for upcoming achievements.
