Raul Ojamaa, who composed music for the Netflix series: the role of music is to support the image
Raul Ojamaa, composer for the Netflix series 'No One Saw Us Leave,' discussed the importance of music supporting visuals rather than overshadowing them.
Raul Ojamaa recently composed the music for the Netflix series 'No One Saw Us Leave' and shared insights during an interview on 'Ringvaates.' He emphasized that the main role of music in film and television is to enhance and support the visual elements, rather than overshadow them with its presence. Ojamaa's philosophy highlights the symbiotic relationship between sound and imagery in storytelling.
During an awards ceremony in Tallinn, Ojamaa received the award for Best Music Synchronization for his original score for the series. He revealed that his journey to the Netflix project began at a music writing camp in Poland organized by the publishing company Tier Music. These camps aim to connect musicians with music consultants who guide them on the types of music required for film, television, commercials, and video games, thus shaping their creative direction.
Ojamaa's original theme for 'No One Saw Us Leave' initially emerged from a different task but caught the attention of the music consultant, Paty Carrer. This led to his work being featured in the Netflix series, showcasing not only Ojamaa's talent but also the pathway for Estonian musicians to gain international recognition in the competitive landscape of film and television music production.
