The ‘Zero Debt’ initiative in Maranhão allows consumers in São Luís and 38 other cities to renegotiate overdue debts with special discounts and conditions from July 9 to July 13, 2026.
The 'Zero Debt' initiative, running from July 9 to July 13, 2026, offers consumers in São Luís and 38 other cities across Maranhão a chance to settle their unpaid debts through special discounts and flexible conditions. This event is part of efforts to help consumers manage their financial obligations and promote responsible spending. Throughout the week, services will be accessible from 10 AM to 8 PM at designated venues in São Luís, specifically at Golden Shopping Calhau and Pátio Norte Shopping.
Participating companies include a range of banks and service providers such as Agibank, Banco do Brasil, and Claro, all of which will offer consumers special terms for either settling or renegotiating their debts. It highlights a collaborative effort to ease the financial burden on residents, allowing individuals to come to resolutions without incurring heavy penalties or interest fees. Additionally, consumers whose creditors are not present can register their debts and still participate in the program.
This initiative aims not only to relieve the financial strain on individuals but also to stimulate local economies by encouraging responsible debt management. The local government and consumer protection agency Procon are key players in organizing this event, thereby underscoring the importance of community support in financial education and recovery efforts in the region.
