On Friday, March 6, in a neighborhood known as Pela Porco in the Sete Portas area of Salvador, two men were wounded after police responded to reports of armed drug dealers. The incident occurred when officers from the Operational Ready Employment Battalion (BPEO) conducted patrols in the Macaúbas neighborhood when they received tips about illicit drug sales in the vicinity. Upon arriving at the scene, police were fired upon by an armed group, who subsequently fled the area.
As the officers initiated a search in the locality, residents reported that two individuals had been found injured on a street that the fleeing suspects had used. These victims were promptly transported by locals to a nearby healthcare facility for treatment. In the course of this police operation, authorities also seized a significant amount of drugs, including 187 packets of cocaine and 30 stones of crack cocaine, highlighting the ongoing issue of drug-related violence in the region.
