Regina Ermits, one of the competitors from Estonia, is set to participate in the 12.5 km women’s mass start event at the Kontiolahti World Cup stage in Finland on Saturday.

On Saturday, the Kontiolahti World Cup stage in Finland will host a women’s mass start race covering a distance of 12.5 km, featuring 30 competitors, including Estonia's Regina Ermits starting from position 17. The race is scheduled to commence at 14:40, and the event will be covered live by Postimees.

Leading up to the mass start event, Regina Ermits showcased her skills in the women’s 15 km individual race held on Thursday, where she finished in 17th place, earning her the title of the best Estonian competitor in that event. Although Ermits faced a minor setback, committing one mistake across four shooting rounds, she ultimately placed 3 minutes and 21.4 seconds behind the winner.

The recent competition saw Swedish athletes take a double victory, with Elvira Öberg winning the race after executing flawless shooting, followed closely by her sister Hanna Öberg, who encountered one mistake in her final shooting round. Slovakian competitor Paulina Fialkova Batovska rounded out the podium after also making one error in shooting, finishing in third place. This event will be crucial for Ermits as she aims to improve her performance in the prestigious World Cup series.
