Today, the Milano Cortina Olympic biathlon program continues with the women’s 7.5 km sprint, where Estonian athletes Regina Ermits, Susan Külm, Tuuli Tomingas, and Johanna Talihärm will be competing. Postimees will provide live updates starting at 15:45. This is a significant event as it features a sprint format in which competitors need to complete three laps with two shooting rounds (prone and standing). The top 60 competitors will advance to the pursuit race.

Leading into this competition, Susan Külm was the best-performing Estonian athlete in previous individual competitions, achieving a 28th place finish despite incurring one penalty. Regina Ermits, who has been a leading figure in Estonia's biathlon season, faced challenges with two penalties and was notably slow, finishing in 50th place. Meanwhile, veteran athlete Tuuli Tomingas had a strong performance, scoring the best time among Estonian competitors, despite finishing 57th due to four penalty minutes, which offers a glimmer of hope as she prepares for today's sprint. Johanna Talihärm had a tougher route, finishing in 74th place after three penalties.

As the athletes gear up for the sprint, all eyes are on Tomingas, who will start with bib number 8, closely followed by Ermits (24), Külm (65), and Talihärm (73). The competitive nature of the sprint intensifies the stakes, as the athletes navigate both the physical demands of the course and the precision required in shooting, making for an exciting event that highlights the skill and determination of Estonian competitors at the international stage.
