On Saturday morning, the first planes carrying Estonian tourists from Oman and Dubai landed at Tallinn Airport, marking the successful return of citizens after the pandemic-related travel restrictions. The flights were organized by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with three airline partners, including FlyDubai, AirBaltic, and Heston. Three special flights took off for Estonia on Friday evening, with the booking options for two additional flights becoming available on the same day, reflecting the demand among citizens stranded abroad.

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna announced that there are plans for further flights in the coming days, specifically mentioning additional routes with FlyDubai, showcasing the government's commitment to assist citizens overseas. Furthermore, he emphasized personalized assistance for Estonian citizens and their family members holding Estonian residence permits currently in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait, indicating proactive measures taken by the authorities to ensure their return.

This initiative not only highlights the operational cooperation between the Ministry and various airlines but also underlines the need for continued support in travel logistics for citizens living abroad amid global uncertainties.
