Kaliňák denies connections to Strnad / Company close to the arms dealer paid Kaliňák's law firm. The minister thanks the Čurilla team for profit growth

Defense Minister Robert Kaliňák has denied any links to arms dealer Michal Strnad, responding to allegations that Strnad's investment platform FunGood is financially connected to Kaliňák's law firm.

Defense Minister Robert Kaliňák has publicly rejected any accusations of having ties to Michal Strnad, an arms dealer, following claims made by Czech investigative journalist Jank Kroupa. The allegations suggest that FinGood, an investment platform involved with Strnad, has been paying funds to Kaliňák's law firm, Kallan Legal, of which Kaliňák owns 70% of the share. Strnad has previously been involved in obtaining substantial contracts with the Slovak Ministry of Defense through his arms group, Czechoslovak Group, which raises concerns about potential conflicts of interest.

In his response to these allegations during a press conference, Kaliňák did not deny the relationship between the Czech company and his law firm. However, he disputed any claims of conflicts of interest, asserting that Strnad is not the ultimate beneficiary of the law firm's advantages. He emphasized that while there is a known name they communicate with, it is not Strnad himself who is ultimately involved in their dealings.

Strnad, in turn, has refuted claims regarding his ownership of FinGood or having a significant share in the company. This denial can be viewed within the broader context of ongoing scrutiny of financial and political connections in Slovakia’s defense sector, especially regarding how political figures and businesses may intersect.
