Swami Avimukteshwaranand will start a journey for cow protection from today
Swami Avimukteshwaranand has begun a journey for cow protection that will take place from Varanasi to Lucknow.
Today, Swami Avimukteshwaranand has launched a significant yatra (journey) aimed at cow protection, beginning in Varanasi and concluding in Lucknow. This event, referred to as the 'Dharam Yudh' for cow reverence, emphasizes the importance of safeguarding and protecting cows, which is a deeply rooted aspect of the culture and religion in India. The yatra aims to raise awareness and rally public support for the cause of cow welfare.
Starting this morning at 8:30 AM from the Shri Vidya Math in Varanasi, the yatra includes important religious rites, such as visiting the Chintaharan Ganesh Temple, followed by a visit to the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, where recitations of Hanuman Chalisa and Bajrang Baan will occur. These spiritual practices underline the religious significance of the yatra, appealing to a broad base of devotees. The initial day will also involve public gatherings in Jaunpur and Sultanpur, offering Swami the opportunity to connect directly with followers and advocate for cow protection.
As the yatra progresses, it will continue through various locations, with Swami Avimukteshwaranand addressing public meetings and staying overnight in places like Raebareli. The journey culminates in a large rally planned on March 11 in Lucknow, where public participation is expected to be significant. Through this yatra, he aims to instigate a large-scale movement for the protection of cows, crucial to India's spiritual and cultural ethos, particularly pressing as discussions around livestock protection intensify in the sociopolitical landscape of the country.
