Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a double homicide that occurred in Parauapebas, Brazil, earlier this year.

The Civil Police of Brazil have arrested two suspects, Raimundo Sousa Cunha and Rael Moreira da Silva, in connection with a double homicide that took place on January 11 in the Tropical II neighborhood of Parauapebas, located in southeastern Pará. The arrests were made in Parauapebas and nearby Marabá as part of an ongoing investigation conducted by the Homicide Division.

The two victims, identified as David Corrêa dos Santos and Éverton Caldas Costa, were shot while sitting at a table outside a commercial establishment on Castanheira Avenue. According to law enforcement, Rael Moreira da Silva is believed to have links to a criminal organization known as CCA, or Comando Classe A, raising concerns regarding organized crime's influence in the region.

The Civil Police have indicated that their investigation is still underway, focusing on unraveling the details of the crime and identifying any additional suspects involved. This incident highlights ongoing issues of violence and organized crime in parts of Brazil, particularly in urban areas where such events are alarmingly frequent, prompting calls for more effective law enforcement measures to ensure public safety.
