Orillas: a project to grow in community
Orillas is an Argentine initiative aimed at reducing educational gaps and enhancing personal and professional growth through family-oriented educational programs.
The Orillas project launched in 2010 focuses on community development by addressing educational disparities and providing new opportunities for personal and professional growth. One of its notable achievements is the establishment of the Secondary School for Adults (EEMPA) in Rosario, which enables parents to resume their education while their children engage in educational activities in the same environment. This model promotes a holistic approach to education that considers the entire family unit.
The organization emphasizes the importance of access to basic rights and seeks to improve the quality of life for individuals in the community. In line with this mission, the role of art is pivotal; it believes that creativity facilitates new forms of expression and strengthens social connections. Orillas has organized various activities that extend beyond traditional classroom settings, instilling a sense of community and collaboration among participants.
One example of their engagement with the arts includes a rap workshop in 2018 that led to the production of a music album. Additionally, visual arts workshops have also contributed to the creative expression within the community. The impact of Orillas has been recognized nationally, having received the Premio Abanderados 2025 for its significant contributions to educational access and community enrichment.
