Soloists of the Year 2025: Laureates Announced

The laureates of the Year Soloists Awards 2025 were announced, recognizing outstanding contributions in opera and ballet performances.

The Year Soloists Awards ceremony, held traditionally by the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre (LNOBT), honors the remarkable stage achievements from the previous season. The ceremony, which took place before the ballet performance 'Bodies and Codes', showcases a variety of talents within the theatre realm, from seasoned masters to emerging stars and dedicated individuals working behind the scenes to create theatre magic. Through these awards, the vibrancy of the theatre community is celebrated in Lithuania.

Among the recognized talents, Viktorija Miškūnaitė was awarded as the Soloist of the Year in opera for her performance of Aldona in Amilcare Ponchielli's opera 'Lithuanians'. Her award acknowledges her musical maturity, interpretative accuracy, and consistent contribution to the theatre's repertoire, highlighting her significant role in enriching Lithuania's opera scene.

Edvinas Jakonis was honored as the Soloist of the Year in ballet, commended for his performances in multiple roles, including Koleno in Frederick Ashton's ballet 'Empty Caution', Alberto in Lolas de Ávila's 'Giselle', Natanaelis in Martynas Rimeikis' 'Coppélia', and Solist in Angelin Preljocaj’s 'Park'. His technical stability, stylistic range, and convincing portrayal in these diverse roles are recognized as key contributions to the development of ballet in Lithuania.
