Robbers trail man from bank, steal N10m in Niger
Armed robbers in Niger State followed a man from a bank and stole over N10 million and his car.
In a brazen daylight robbery in Niger State, a man was followed from a bank where he had just received a significant cash payment, only to be attacked by armed robbers who stole over N10 million from him. The incident took place on Shiroro Road in Minna, highlighting the growing concern regarding bank-related crimes in Nigeria.
According to reports, the assailants used a Toyota Corolla to cut off their victim, seizing the cash and then fleeing in the victim's Toyota Camry. The situation escalated as the robber's Corolla was abandoned at the crime scene. The victim exhibited remarkable courage by managing to recover one of the rifles left behind by the robbers during the chaos.
The Niger State Police Command's spokesperson confirmed the event and mentioned that law enforcement is actively pursuing the suspects responsible for this armed assault. This incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by citizens in terms of security and safety, particularly related to bank transactions where criminals target unsuspecting individuals after they have collected substantial amounts of money.
