The Chinese car brand with development and design centers in Sweden arrives in Argentina
Lynk&Co, a premium car brand from China with a Swedish development center, is set to enter the Argentine market.
The arrival of Lynk&Co in Argentina marks another milestone in the country's evolving automotive landscape, with the company being represented by Grupo Belcastro, which also represents several other car brands. Founded in 2016 and part of the Geely Group, Lynk&Co aims to introduce its range of hybrid SUVs, the models 01, 06, and 08, to Argentine consumers. The presence of this company, known for its innovative designs and hybrid technology, indicates a shift towards more sustainable vehicle options in the market.
Lynk&Co's strategy is primarily focused on integrating advanced technology into their vehicles while also leveraging their global design resources, including a notable design center located in Gothenburg, Sweden. This center, along with others in China, the United States, and the UK, employs over 200 designers dedicated to crafting vehicles that meet modern consumer demands. The vehicles planned for Argentina feature plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), reflecting a growing trend towards electrification in the automotive industry.
Although pricing details for the new models have yet to be finalized, Lynk&Co has disclosed that the models 01 and 06 will benefit from import tax exemptions available for electrified vehicles. This strategic move could potentially make them more appealing to environmentally conscious consumers in Argentina, but the actual market response will depend on other factors such as marketing and distribution effectiveness within the country.
