Three Arrests: Suspicion of Illegal Work – Customs Seizes Millions

German customs conducted a major operation against illegal work in Bavaria, resulting in three arrests and the seizure of assets worth approximately 2.5 million euros.

German customs officials carried out a large-scale raid targeting illegal work in Bavaria, leading to the arrest of three key suspects associated with a Munich security firm. The company is accused of defrauding the public sector and social security organizations out of an estimated 10 million euros. During the searches, officials also uncovered a significant cache of weapons, including 30 firearms, among which were rifles, pistols, and ammunition for an AK-47 assault rifle.

The arrested suspects, who now face charges of illegal employment, are currently in pre-trial detention. They could face prison sentences of up to five years, with a possibility of ten years in more severe cases. In addition to arresting the suspects, customs authorities confiscated assets estimated at around 2.5 million euros, which included luxury items such as a Porsche 911, various properties, luxury watches, and gold.

This operation highlights ongoing issues related to illegal employment practices in Germany, particularly the use of shell companies to conduct black market work. It raises questions about regulatory oversight in the security industry and the complexities involved in preventing such illegalizations, as authorities aim to enforce labor laws and protect fair competition in the market.
