"Invisible Stitches": 48 artists "sew" a visual narrative about women

An exhibition titled 'Invisible Stitches' showcasing the works of 48 artists exploring women's experiences is set to open in Palaia, Greece, on International Women's Day, March 8, 2026.

On Sunday, March 8, 2026, coinciding with International Women's Day, Imagine Visual Arts in Palaia will inaugurate a group exhibition titled 'Invisible Stitches'. This event will feature the creative contributions of forty-eight artists from the Visual Arts Association of Mesogaia, each artist interpreting the female experience through various artistic languages. The exhibition will run from 7 PM to 10 PM, with free public entry.

The purpose of the exhibition is to shed light on the invisible forces that bind the social fabric, such as care work, resilience, knowledge, and creative continuity, which often go unnoticed in the public eye. The title serves as a metaphor: just as stitches keep a garment together without being visible, the mechanisms that shape female experiences, such as daily care, knowledge transfer, and the quiet organization of everyday life, structure society without demanding visibility.

The exhibition space will showcase a diverse range of artistic expressions, including painting, sculpture, and photography, allowing visitors to engage with the multifaceted narratives of women's lives. Through these artistic works, the exhibition aims to elevate the dialogue surrounding women's roles and contributions in society, bringing forth stories that are often overlooked and reinforcing the importance of their visibility in contemporary discourse.
