Couple from Grande SP is stranded on a cruise ship in Dubai after attacks in the region
A couple from Poá, São Paulo, is stranded on a cruise ship in Dubai due to escalating attacks in the region, with flights suspended and their itinerary canceled for security reasons.
A couple from Poá, in Grande São Paulo, found themselves stranded aboard the MSC Euríbia cruise ship, docked in Dubai, following a surge in attacks in the region. The pair, Tathiana Suwaki Amorim and her husband Cristian, boarded the ship on February 28. However, their planned itinerary was officially canceled due to security concerns, leaving them in a precarious situation as flights back to Brazil were either suspended or operating at reduced capacity.
Despite being able to disembark, authorities have strongly advised passengers to remain on the ship for their safety. Tathiana stated that although the cruise was officially canceled, guests were kept aboard the vessel, which has essentially become an emergency accommodation solution amid the dangerous conditions outside. The couple is now navigating this uncertain situation with limited options for returning home.
This incident highlights the escalating security issues in the Middle East, as well as the challenges faced by tourists during such crises. Travelers in the region are left in a vulnerable position, and the decisions by cruise lines to keep passengers aboard can reflect broader safety considerations amid regional instability that impacts tourism and personal safety.
