Speaking to journalists, he distinguished that this permission would more likely relate to logistical support rather than direct military operations, taking into account Lithuania's geographical positioning away from active conflict areas. Lieutenant General Raimundas Vaikšnoras, the commander of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, suggested that Lithuania could contribute to US operations against Iran by allowing access to its airspace for fighter jets and bombers. However, he stressed that this was merely a hypothetical scenario, indicating that no formal political decisions had been made regarding such assistance. Furthermore, Lithuania's Defense Minister, Robertas Kaunas, clarified that the country has not received any requests from allies to assist in conflicts with Iran.
