Estonian illustrator Karel Korp discussed his journey in the arts during the cultural program "OP", sharing insights about the challenges and dedication required to produce his first illustrated book. Korp revealed that he devoted an entire year to this project, highlighting the meticulous effort he put into it every day. The book he illustrated, released in 1997, showcased the story of students from a school for ghosts, embodied in a vivid and artistic manner.

Throughout his career, Korp has illustrated nearly 40 children's books and contributed illustrations for various institutions, including the Estonian Human Development Reports and ETV's series on Estonian culture. He mentioned how his artistic style has evolved over time, moving towards a more geometric aesthetic, though he emphasized that he is still proficient in traditional drawing.
