Government: Difficult situation for Poles in Qatar. Evacuation through Saudi Arabia will happen
Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk explains the ongoing evacuation of Polish nationals from Qatar as a response to the challenging situation in the region.
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently held a meeting of a special team coordinating aid for Polish citizens in the Middle East. Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who chaired the meeting, reported that since March 1, over 2,800 Poles have been evacuated from dangerous areas with the help of civil airlines and Polish consular facilities. However, he emphasized that many individuals are still waiting for assistance and information, indicating the ongoing challenges in providing comprehensive support to all.
Tusk remarked that despite the progress made in the evacuation efforts, there is no reason for complacency, as many people are still awaiting help. He pointed out the limitations that even Poland, or any country, face in ensuring immediate assistance to everyone, emphasizing the complexities of the situation. The Polish government has deployed two civil government Boeing aircraft to facilitate the ongoing evacuation efforts on a larger scale.
The situation remains concerning, with ongoing concerns about war threats in the region. The commencement of large-scale civil operations aims to assist those still in need. The Polish government's proactive measures highlight their commitment to ensuring the safety of their citizens abroad amid challenging circumstances.
