The dressing room of our national star Aliki in Piraeus
The dressing room of renowned Greek actress Aliki Vougiouklaki will be permanently hosted at the Municipal Theater of Piraeus, an initiative supported by local officials and her family.
Aliki Vougiouklaki, a beloved figure in Greek theatre and cinema, is making a permanent return to the Municipal Theater of Piraeus, thanks to an initiative by Kanal One 90.4 and its cultural program director, journalist Panagiotis Fytras. This move has received enthusiastic backing from Piraeus Mayor Giannis Moralis and support from Vougiouklaki's family, showing the community's dedication to celebrating her legacy.
Starting from late May, the theater will showcase Aliki's dressing room, which will include her costume from 'The Merry Widow,' personal items, manuscripts, and rare photographs donated by her family. The renowned set designer Manolis Pantelidakis will craft the dressing room display, creating a homage to the actress who made her theatrical debut at the Municipal Theater of Piraeus alongside Christoforos Nezer. This exhibition is particularly significant as it coincides with the 30th anniversary of her passing.
This initiative not only honors Aliki Vougiouklakiβs impactful career but also reinforces the cultural identity of Piraeus as a hub for the arts, inspiring younger generations to appreciate and continue the legacy of one of Greece's most cherished artistic personalities.
