Truck carrying avocados overturns leaving three injured on MGC-354
A truck carrying avocados overturned on the MGC-354 in Lagamar, Brazil, injuring three individuals who sustained minor injuries.
On Thursday night, a truck loaded with avocados lost control and overturned on the MGC-354 highway in Lagamar, located in the Alto Paranaíba region of Brazil. The incident occurred at approximately 8 PM at kilometer marker 88, where part of the bulk avocado cargo spilled onto the roadside. According to the Military Highway Police (PMRv), the truck was en route from Guarda-Mor to São Gotardo when it failed to navigate a series of curves, resulting in the driver losing control and the vehicle tipping onto its right side.
The truck had three occupants: a 30-year-old driver and two passengers aged 51 and 35. Fortunately, all three sustained only minor injuries and were promptly treated at a local emergency facility in Lagamar. The PMRv indicated that the removal of the truck and the scattered avocado cargo was scheduled for the following morning, indicating that authorities were efficiently managing the aftermath of the accident to clear the highway and prevent further complications.
This accident highlights the risks associated with transporting heavy loads on winding roads, especially in regions like Alto Paranaíba, where curvy highways can pose significant challenges for drivers. It underscores the importance of road safety measures and attentive driving practices in preventing similar incidents in the future, as well as the necessity for proper training and caution when transporting freight through complicated terrain.
