A truck loaded with 25 tons of melons overturned on the BR-304 highway in Mossoró, Brazil, but fortunately, there were no injuries reported.

On Tuesday, October 17, a truck transporting 25 tons of melons overturned on the BR-304 highway in Mossoró, Brazil, around 10 AM. The driver, in an interview with Inter TV Costa Branca, explained that during a maneuver to turn around, he noticed another truck approaching at high speed and attempted to avoid a collision. Unfortunately, the rear of his vehicle fell into a pothole while making the turn, leading to the accident.

Following the incident, no injuries were reported, which was fortunate considering the scale of the truck's cargo. A crane was subsequently called in to lift the overturned vehicle from the pothole, and the area was cordoned off by the Federal Highway Police using cones to ensure the safety of other motorists. The truck had loaded its cargo in Governador Dix-Sept Rosado and was headed to Vitória, the capital of Espírito Santo state.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding road safety and infrastructure in Brazil, an issue compounded by traffic congestion and highway conditions. The quick response from the authorities helped to minimize disruption on the busy highway, ensuring that traffic flow could resume as soon as possible after the wreck was cleared.
