The Red Bull Heavy Metal competition, taking place for the first time outside North America, will feature top street snowboarders competing at Helsinki's Senate Square.

The Red Bull Heavy Metal competition is making its international debut at Helsinki's Senate Square, marking the first time it has been held outside North America. Set for Saturday, March 7, 2026, the event will be broadcast live on ISTV, and is expected to draw a crowd of around 15,000 spectators. Competitors will showcase their best tricks on customized courses built on the iconic steps of the Helsinki Cathedral, incorporating elements like obstacles, jumps, and rails to enhance their performances.

In this competition, elite street snowboarders will tackle two different segments designed specifically for the event. The heavy metal vibes are expected to create an electrifying atmosphere as competitors are judged on their runs by a panel of judges, with medalists announced around 8 PM. Finnish snowboarder Telma Sรคrkipaju, who recently won the opening event of the tour in Boston, is among the notable contenders, underscoring Finland's growing prominence in the competitive snowboarding scene.

The event will be co-hosted by prominent Finnish snowboarder Eero Ettala and Hannu-Pekka "HP" Parviainen from the Duudsonit group, adding notable personalities to the competition's appeal. Last year, the Boston competition attracted over 25,000 spectators, establishing itself as one of the largest events in street snowboarding history, thus setting high expectations for this year's Helsinki edition and highlighting the significance of snowboarding culture in Finland and beyond.
