Tennis Festival in Vilnius: R. Berankis' Last Match Accompanied by Youth Camp, Children's Day, and Charity Auction
The last match of Lithuanian tennis star Ričardas Berankis will be celebrated with a tennis community festival that includes training camps for young players and charity initiatives.
Lithuanian tennis player Ričardas Berankis is set to hold his last match in a festive event designed to not only celebrate his career but also inspire the next generation of tennis players. The Lithuania Tennis Union president Ramūnas Grušas emphasized that this occasion will be a farewell tribute to the best tennis player in Lithuania, coupled with activities aimed at children and youth. The event aims to motivate young talents to follow in Berankis' footsteps and potentially take his place on the world stage.
One of the standout features of the event will be the National Training Camp "Top U12", which will gather 16 of the most promising 12-year-old tennis players from Lithuania. These young athletes will benefit from four days of training at the SEB Arena, where they will receive guidance from Berankis himself. Renowned tennis champion J.-W. Tsonga, a winner of 18 ATP tournaments, will also lend his expertise during an evening training session, providing invaluable advice to both the young players and their coaches.
The development of young tennis players is recognized as a core priority by the Lithuanian Tennis Union, and they believe that interactions with high-caliber players can serve as a significant motivational boost. This event not only commemorates Berankis' achievements but also aims to foster a new generation of talent that can carry forward the legacy of Lithuanian tennis.
