Ukraine will provide drone protection support in Middle East at US request, Zelensky says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine will assist the US and its allies in countering Iranian-made drones in the Middle East.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is prepared to offer drone protection support to the US and its Middle Eastern allies in response to a growing need to counter Iran's Shahed drones. This announcement reflects increased collaboration between Ukraine and multiple countries in the region as ongoing conflicts escalate, particularly with Iran's drone usage becoming a significant concern for US interests.
Zelensky mentioned that several Middle Eastern nations, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait, have reached out to Ukraine for assistance in defending against the Iranian-made drones employed in recent attacks. This cooperation highlights Ukraine's evolving role and significance on the global defense stage, particularly in light of its own ongoing conflict with Russia, which has further emphasized the importance of drone technology in modern warfare.
The US and its allies have been actively seeking solutions to mitigate the threats posed by these drones to their regional interests. By leveraging Ukraine's experience with drone warfare, particularly in its fight against Russia, this partnership underscores the interconnectedness of regional security issues and the strategic importance of countering Iranian influence in the Middle East as tensions rise between the US, Iran, and allied nations.
