A pharmacy in Pateniemi, Oulu, was robbed on Thursday afternoon by a man armed with a knife. Celebrated author Joni Skiftesvik happened to be at the scene when the robbery occurred. He described the suspect as a man dressed in black who rushed out of the pharmacy, prompting Skiftesvik to suspect a robbery was in progress. The man then jumped on an old, clunky bike and attempted to flee the area.

Fortunately for law enforcement, the escape was short-lived. Police were informed about the robbery shortly after it happened and, later that evening, reported that they had captured the suspect near the pharmacy. The suspect is now facing serious charges for aggravated robbery. Skiftesvik recounted that when he entered the pharmacy after witnessing the event, he encountered shocked staff who had been threatened by the robber during the incident.

This incident raises concerns about public safety in Oulu and emphasizes the potential dangers of armed robberies in local neighborhoods.
