Defense Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted India's increasing defense capabilities and self-reliance during a maritime conclave in Kolkata, pointing to the success of 'Operation Sindoor' as a significant demonstration of India's military strength.

In a time of global conflict and tensions, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the 'Sagar Sankalp' maritime conclave in Kolkata, emphasizing the importance of India's evolving military capabilities. He stated that 'Operation Sindoor' has effectively demonstrated India's military readiness and strength on the world stage, underlining the country’s commitment to enhance its defense capabilities amidst serious developments in the Middle East.

Singh also outlined significant progress in India's defense sector, revealing that domestic defense production has surpassed ₹1.5 lakh crore and defense exports have crossed ₹24,000 crore. He pointed out that while these figures are commendable, they should not lead to complacency, insisting that the country still has substantial work ahead in achieving full self-reliance in defense.

Furthermore, Singh conveyed that these milestones reflect India’s firm stance towards self-reliance, driven by the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-reliant India) initiative. The minister's remarks indicate a focused drive towards not only enhancing India's defense production but also reasserting its place in the global defense landscape, ensuring security amid rising global uncertainties.
