Emirates Airlines has restarted a limited number of flights between the United Arab Emirates and South Africa, with services resuming on Thursday and Friday. This comes as over 6,400 South Africans find themselves stranded abroad due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East, prompting their government to implore citizens to evacuate utilizing the limited flights now available. The reopening of these flights is a critical step in assisting those who have been caught up in the turbulence of a dangerously volatile region.

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) has been actively involved in coordinating the evacuations, emphasizing the importance of these flights for South African citizens currently in the UAE.
