Emirates and Etihad Airlines Announce Limited Resumption of Flights
Emirates and Etihad Airlines have announced a limited resumption of flights to key cities worldwide following the suspension caused by escalating tensions in the region.
Emirates and Etihad Airlines have made an announcement regarding the limited resumption of flights from the United Arab Emirates to major cities around the world, following a period of cancellations attributed to rocket fire risks linked to the ongoing U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran. The conflict has created a precarious situation for airlines operating in and out of the region, prompting changes to flight schedules and routes.
According to Reuters, Etihad Airways revealed its plans to resume a limited flight schedule until March 19, operating flights from and to Abu Dhabi, as well as 25 other destinations including London, Paris, Frankfurt, New Delhi, New York, and Toronto. Similarly, Emirates Airlines, based in Dubai, also announced that it would operate a reduced schedule serving 82 destinations such as London, Sydney, Singapore, and New York, though this measure is expected to continue until further notice.
The aviation industry, particularly in Dubai, has experienced a notable decline in traffic, with reports indicating that despite a slight increase in airport activity, levels remain approximately 25% less than usual. This situation highlights the ongoing challenges faced by airlines amid geopolitical tensions and the need for continued monitoring of safety conditions in the region to ensure the safety of passengers and staff.
