Farofa, with pieces in the creation phase, occupies independent spaces of Bexiga
The 10th edition of the Farofa do Processo event will take place in independent cultural spaces in Bexiga, São Paulo, featuring theatrical works in various development stages.
The 10th edition of Farofa do Processo is set to take place in five independent cultural spaces in Bexiga, a vibrant neighborhood in central São Paulo. Scheduled for March 7 to 15, this event operates on a 'pay what you can' model and is organized alongside the prestigious Mostra Internacional de Teatro de São Paulo (MITsp). Attendees can expect a showcase of 70 artists involved in the development of 60 different theatrical works, alongside discussions, a book fair, and lively street performances.
This year's festival aims to highlight emerging theatrical pieces at various stages of their creation, allowing audiences to engage directly with the artistic process. Notable participants include directors Georgette Fadel and Marcelo Marcus Fonseca, as well as actor and playwright Rodrigo França, each presenting their unique works. The previous edition saw several pieces, such as '1 Peça Cansada' and 'Antígona Travesti', make their first appearances, many of which later gained recognition on both national and international stages.
The inclusion of international artists such as Argentine dancer and choreographer Soledad for this edition underscores the festival's commitment to fostering cross-cultural exchanges in the performing arts. Farofa do Processo continues to serve as a platform for innovation and experimentation, reflecting São Paulo's rich artistic landscape and its support for independent theater.
