Cadillac is coming: GM confirms it will sell luxury SUVs from the brand in Brazil

General Motors has officially announced that Cadillac will begin selling luxury SUVs in Brazil starting in 2026, with initial sales in São Paulo, Brasília, and Curitiba.

General Motors confirmed on Thursday that it will start selling Cadillac luxury SUVs in Brazil, with sales expected to launch in 2026. The announcement, made by Thomas Owsiaski, president of GM South America, marks the brand's official entry into the Brazilian market. The initial offering will include models such as the Lyriq, Optiq, and Vistiq, with operations commencing through three dealerships located in São Paulo, Brasília, and Curitiba.

According to Fábio Rua, vice president of GM South America, the strategy is to introduce Cadillac gradually, highlighting the company's confidence in the market potential for the brand. The executive emphasized that the selling process will focus on creating an enriched customer experience, indicating a commitment to building the brand in Brazil collaboratively with consumers. They plan to ensure that every aspect, from sales to service, aligns with the expectations of luxury vehicle buyers.

The Cadillac Lyriq, the first fully electric SUV from the brand, is among the key models that will be available when sales commence. Developed starting in 2021, the Lyriq was launched in 2022, showcasing a bold design and advanced Ultium platform technology. As Cadillac prepares for its market introduction, it aims to attract a growing segment of premium SUV buyers in Brazil, potentially reshaping the luxury vehicle landscape in the region.
