Residents of Mongaguá can request a card for free entry to tourist attractions
Residents of Mongaguá can apply for a card that allows free access to local tourist attractions, aimed at helping low-income families.
Residents of Mongaguá, located on the coast of São Paulo, can now apply for a special card that grants them free access to the city's tourist attractions. This initiative by the local government is designed to encourage visitation among low-income residents, enabling them to partake in cultural and leisure activities without the burden of entrance fees. The program aims to promote inclusivity and ensure that all community members have the opportunity to enjoy the area's cultural heritage and recreational facilities.
To qualify for the card, individuals must meet specific criteria, including proof of residency in Mongaguá for at least two years and a family income that does not exceed one and a half minimum wages per person. The application period runs until May 31, and residents can obtain the card from the Secretaria de Turismo. Once acquired, the card will be valid for one year, with provisions for renewal upon submission of previous documentation.
This initiative highlights the government's efforts to make local attractions more accessible to its residents, especially those from lower economic backgrounds. By facilitating access to cultural and recreational spaces, Mongaguá seeks to foster community engagement and enhance the overall quality of life for its citizens, which is crucial in a region where economic disparities may limit opportunities for leisure and cultural enrichment.
