Police arrest suspects impersonating glaziers to invade a house and steal R$ 1 million in a high-end area of Brasília; VIDEO

Brazilian police have arrested suspects who disguised themselves as glaziers to execute a home invasion, resulting in a theft of approximately R$ 1 million.

The Civil Police of the Federal District reported the arrest of suspects who pretended to be service providers to gain access to a residence in a luxury area of Brasília. The incident, which occurred on August 8, 2024, resulted in estimated losses of around R$ 1 million for the victims. The investigation revealed that four men were involved in the crime, one of whom owns a glass company that had performed work on the house shortly before the burglary.

In a detailed account by police delegate Alexandre Araújo, the suspects executed their plan knowing the household's routine. They arrived in a vehicle, approached the house, and called the caretaker by name. As he came closer, one of the men brandished a firearm and announced the robbery. Security camera footage captured the moment the victims were overpowered, including the caretaker, the mother, the son, and a housekeeper, who were all restrained with plastic ties and locked in a room during the robbery.

This incident highlights a disturbing trend of home invasions in Brazil, where criminals use insider information to carry out their plans. The police are continuing their investigations to prevent such crimes and apprehend any additional accomplices who may have been involved in the planning or execution of this sophisticated crime.
