Section of marginal lanes of Dutra is opened in São José dos Campos; see new accesses
A new stretch of marginal lanes on Presidente Dutra Highway has been opened to traffic in São José dos Campos, facilitating better access for drivers.
A new stretch of approximately 2 kilometers of marginal lanes on the Presidente Dutra Highway was opened to traffic on the afternoon of Thursday, June 5, in São José dos Campos. This segment runs towards Rio de Janeiro and connects the new marginal lane, which begins in Jacareí, to an existing marginal lane in front of a shopping center in the city's southern zone. With this change, drivers who already use the marginal lane originating from Jacareí can now follow the new extension to this point on the road. The new stretch also provides access to CTA and allows a return to the express lane of the highway.
According to the concessionaire SP Rio+, responsible for managing the Dutra in this section, the opening completes the works to expand the marginal lanes between kilometers 151 and 158 of the highway, which runs between Jacareí and São José dos Campos. As part of a broader infrastructure improvement strategy, this intervention aims to enhance traffic flow and provide better connectivity between key areas in the region.
The efforts to expand the Dutra highway's marginal lanes are essential for alleviating congestion and improving access for local commuters and travelers. Such developments not only ease traffic conditions but may also accelerate economic activity around these hubs, fostering growth and enhancing the quality of life for residents. This investment in infrastructure reflects the ongoing commitment by authorities to upgrade transportation networks in Brazil, ensuring they can meet growing demands.
