Victor Tárcio da Silva Calderaro, a 31-year-old bank manager in Manaus, Brazil, was arrested on suspicion of embezzling more than R$ 500,000 from his clients during an operation by the Civil Police. The arrest occurred in the Alvorada neighborhood of the capital on Wednesday. According to Police Chief Cícero Túlio, Calderaro had convinced his clients to transfer large sums for alleged high-return investments, exploiting his position as general manager of the financial institution.
