The City Hall of São José dos Campos has initiated a bidding process with an estimated budget of R$ 8.759 million aimed at the reconstruction of a rainwater drainage gallery on Rua Felisbina de Souza Machado in the Jardim Imperial neighborhood. The area has faced severe issues since January 27 when a significant erosion led to a crater formation that resulted in the shutdown of a building and several homes. The project includes plans for new piping along a specified section of the road to address ongoing drainage problems.

As part of the bidding process, interested companies have until March 25 to submit their proposals, with the selected contractor expected to be announced on the same day. The city has set a timeline of 12 months for the project, commencing from the issue of the service order. This reconstruction is critical not just for restoring access but also for preventing further environmental impact and infrastructure degradation in the area.
