Kaimar Vagul jumped into the top ten at the junior world championship

Ski jumper Kaimar Vagul achieved eighth place at the Junior World Championships in Lillehammer, Norway.

Kaimar Vagul, representing Estonia, made an impressive mark at the Junior World Championships in Lillehammer, Norway, finishing in eighth place by scoring a total of 260.3 points across two jumps. His first jump reached an impressive distance of 98 meters, earning him 132 points and positioning him sixth after the initial round. Following that, Vagul's second jump measured 95.5 meters, where he scored 128.3 points, confirming his place in the top ten of this prestigious competition.

During his training sessions leading up to the events, Vagul focused on acclimating to the conditions in Lillehammer. He expressed that the first training day was crucial for getting used to the jump and bonding with the hill. By the time he entered his second training day, he felt more at ease and started to remedy previous mistakes, which enhanced his performance in the actual competition. He noted that his jumps during the event were significantly longer than in earlier attempts, indicating progress.

Although Vagul acknowledged some imperfections in his landings, he was generally satisfied with his performance, as his main objective was to achieve long jumps. Missing out on a few style points in his second jump due to a landing misstep did not deter his spirits. Vagul's overall performance may bode well for his future career as he continues to develop his skills in ski jumping and compete on international stages.
