San Isidro will receive 50 hectares of coastline from the Province of Buenos Aires to continue advancing its coastal plan

The Municipality of San Isidro reached a historic agreement with the Province of Buenos Aires for the management of 50 hectares of coastal land to further its coastal development plan.

The Municipality of San Isidro has announced a significant agreement with the Province of Buenos Aires, in which the province transfers possession and administration of 15 coastal parcels covering around 500,000 square meters to the municipality. This agreement represents a continuation of a previously established legal precedent, reinforcing the institutional framework that allows the municipality to move forward with its Coastal Plan aimed at creating an integrated, accessible, and high-quality waterfront for both residents and visitors.

The announcement was made by Mayor Ramón Lanús and the Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, during a ceremony held at Roque Saenz Peña and the River in San Isidro. Mayor Lanús emphasized the importance of developing a waterfront that is not only integrated and accessible but also equipped with public spaces for the enjoyment of all residents and visitors. The initiative is part of a broader vision to reclaim the riverfront and prioritize public access to the area.

This agreement marks a significant step in urban development and environmental management in San Isidro, highlighting the collaboration between local and provincial authorities. It raises potential implications for the area's tourism and quality of life, as improved access to the coastline is expected to enhance the local economy and promote sustainable urban practices while ensuring that the waterfront remains a vibrant community space.
